Mobile Classroom - The Amazing Sarong

In this workshop, the children were brought through various processes to create their own film, inspired by the book, ‘The Amazing Sarong’ by Quek Hong Shin. This included exploring with various ways to use a sarong (and turning it into other things), writing our own story, painting our own sarong designs and filming the story. Throughout the sessions, the children were provided with opportunities to cultivate the skills necessary for collaboration, focusing on listening to their peers in various discussions, making suggestions, providing feedback and building on each other’s ideas. We observed the children beginning to listen to each other’s perspectives and form a shared understanding of the tasks that were set and the goal we were working towards.
